Financial Analyst
Arcstone is seeking an Associate financial analyst to play a significant and central role in researching and valuing private companies to the satisfaction of our demanding clients, and in the continued growth and development of our firm.
About the Position
Among the Associate’s specific duties will be the following:
- Assist in applying business valuation approaches and methods to a variety of tangible and non-tangible assets, including equity valuations, option analyses, and purchase price allocations.
- Assist in the assembly, maintenance, and finalization of working papers that support valuations.
- Assist in performing intensive financial analysis, strategic analysis, economic analysis, due diligence, valuation analysis and industry research.
- Gain understanding of client operations, processes and business objectives.
- Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis.
This is a career track position. The responsibilities of the financial analyst will encompass a growing spectrum of responsibilities. Training (both formal and OJT) as well as credentialing (CFA, ASA, ABV) will play a significant role in analyst development.
About the Financial Analyst
The financial analyst will play a central and critical part in the production of Arcstone valuations. This member of our team will participate in all phases of engagements, simultaneously for multiple clients, applying skills in business valuation. He or she will work closely with our senior appraisers to provide among the highest quality valuation analyses in the industry.
As such, the valuation analyst must have the following character attributes:
- Be a total quant jock
- Be an absolute detail freak
- Have an inherent drive to super-please the client
- Be defined by integrity
- Possess an entrepreneurial spirit
- Easily gain the respect of clients and co-workers
- Enjoy working in a small, collegial group
Together with the above, the valuation analyst must possess the following:
- Two to four years of experience in public accounting, investment banking or consulting (or relevant experience outside these realms)
- Demonstrated experience in financial analysis and business valuation
- Excellent written communications skills
- Excellent research, organizational, and project management skills
- An intimate understanding of financial statements and ratio analyses
- An intuitive grasp of complex capital structures
On top of all that, the valuation analyst should be driven to achieve the following credentials:
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
- Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA)
- Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), if the analyst already has a CPA.
